Titled ‘The Big Idea’, the outcome of the brief required an in-depth response to a selected concept. A result of thorough research, needed to communicate specific aspects of the concept, to a chosen target audience. The chosen concept was ‘Double Entendre’, in which a comedic approach was taken in the final outcome, and aimed at an adult audience.
Based open the aspect of ‘the reveal’, the result was a series of redrawn illustrated double entendres in a book format. The original illustrations, produced by David Philip Millar, were well-known during the 1960s and 1970s as ‘saucy seaside postcards’, emulating a similar comedic approach as the ‘Carry On’ film series.
