About ME

Born and bred in the South Wales valleys, I am an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious craftsman with skills in numerous areas of design, from print to screen based outcomes. A confident and creative individual who is self-motivated, self-sufficient and comes with a strong background in print.

As someone who is hands-on, I have a keen interest in the time-honoured and unique craft of bookbinding with a definitive love for paper and textured material. The tactile nature, and even the smell of paper is what drew me to the traditional methods of craft, design and print.

I am fascinated with traditional crafts and the aesthetic qualities they can possess, with the use of fine quality materials used and traditional techniques and methods that are utilised. Yet what attracted me to design and print is the important role it plays in communicating ideas, and the opportunities it gives to experiment and combine traditional media and computer based applications.

DESIGN

Ability to visualise designs

ARTWORKING

Able to produce print-ready artwork

FINISHING

Proficient in hand-finishing

My abilities span a broad spectrum with strengths lying with print design. With a designer’s eye for detail I have the knowledge and ability to visualise designs, produce print ready artwork and hand finish to the highest quality possible.

As a Mac user I feel I have evolved as a professional creative with a thorough understanding of desktop publishing applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and most recently Cinema 4D.

I work well in a proactive team and as an individual. With a get it done attitude I am able to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment, not compromising on quality and standard of work.

Recent Projects

Here are my most recent completed projects. Please check back regularly, as these will change as new work is completed and added to my portfolio. From Design, Artworking and Finishing, you will find a variety of projects in my portfolio page.

Downtime

Just like everyone else, I don’t work 24 hours a day. So when I do get some downtime I like to keep my hands and brain busy with a variety of different crafts. From bookbinding, knitting, crochet, bag making, sewing… the list goes on!!! Most recently I have started to learn Cinema 4D, a 3D modelling software package. Attending courses and following online tutorials, it has allowed me to add another skill to my design and artworking arsenal.

All of my downtime work can be viewed via my Instagram profile.
